Material Handler 1

Location: Sumter, South Carolina 29153
Job Duration: 6 Months
XXXX: XXXXXXXXXXX/hour (includes shift differential)
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Job Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of forklift/stand-up lift experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be computer literate.
• RF scanner experience preferred; training will be provided.
• 10-panel drug screen required within 48 hours of accepting the job offer.
• Eye exam required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Walkie Rider/motorized pallet jack experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities Pallet & Case Picking

• Process customer orders by scanning barcodes, picking, and labeling boxes.
• Pick and pack orders accurately.
• Process orders using RF technology.
• Verify order accuracy and prepare shipments for packaging.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area according to SOPs.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Complete required RF device training.

Pallet Building

• Scan, retrieve, and place completed orders onto pallets.
• Re-palletize products for shipment.
• Scan completed pallets and operate the shrink wrapper as needed.
• Transport pallets using material handling equipment (MHE).
• Verify accuracy and prepare shipments for packaging.

Safety & Warehouse Operations

• Follow all safety procedures and proper operating practices.
• Report injuries, accidents, hazards, unsafe conditions, or suspicious activity immediately.
• Maintain warehouse security and a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Follow attendance policies and complete required training modules.
• Cross-train on other warehouse positions and provide backup support when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, reach, push/pull, grasp, twist, and lift.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for picking, handling, typing, and repetitive movements.
• May occasionally be required to climb.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Position involves working near moving mechanical equipment.
