Material Handler 1 - Night Shift (Contract)
Location: Sumter, SC 29153 | Pay Rate: $18.50/hr | Schedule: 3-2-2-3, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
[About the Role]
Join a high-energy distribution team as a Material Handler 1, supporting fast-paced warehouse operations. As a key player on our night shift, you'll be responsible for safe and accurate material movement, order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean, secure, and efficient workspace. This contract opportunity offers immediate starts pending background clearance, with excellent potential for cross-training and career growth.
[Responsibilities]
- Pick, scan, and label cases/pallets for customer orders using RF technology
- Palletize, re-palletize, and prepare products for shipment
- Operate stand-up forklifts and motorized pallet jacks (Walkie Ryder) for material transport
- Verify order accuracy and package shipments to meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with SOPs and safety guidelines
- Report safety incidents, hazards, and suspicious activities immediately
- Support warehouse security and adhere to all facility policies
- Complete required training modules and assist with cross-training as a backup for other roles
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Minimum 6 months verifiable forklift driving experience (stand-up forklift preferred)
- High school diploma, GED, or 1 year relevant experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working independently in a metrics-driven, fast-paced environment
- Ability to use RF scanners and follow distribution procedures
- Pass a 10-panel drug screen (within 48 hours of offer) and an eye exam
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience with Walkie Ryder (motorized pallet jack)
- Prior cross-training in warehouse roles
