Description

The Material Control Clerk supports material control, purchasing, and logistics operations by coordinating material availability, order status, and on-time deliveries. This role works closely with sourcing, suppliers, manufacturing, and internal teams to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite, defer, or cancel material orders based on requirements.
  • Work with Global Sourcing to ensure accurate and timely material deliveries.
  • Coordinate expediting activities for customer service and production supplies.
  • Provide material pricing, availability, lead times, and order status updates.
  • Track open and past-due orders and maintain accurate delivery dates.
  • Prepare delivery status, lead-time, and supplier performance reports.
  • Maintain purchasing records, requisitions, and related documentation.
  • Create purchase orders for MRO products from approved suppliers.
  • Support purchasing and logistics activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and more efficient material flow.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturing, and internal teams.
  • Follow company safety, confidentiality, and other applicable policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple business correspondence and communicate effectively with others.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
