    Hunter offers $24.25 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. Some mandatory overtime.

    This position is for our 1st shift (7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday)

    As a Clerk, Material, you will receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within the plant floor areas.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Initiates purchase requisitions for materials and supplies as needed
    • Verifies material received against requisition, shipping notices, or invoices
    • Completes records concerned with quantity and type of material received, stored, and issued in the plant and use handheld scanner to enter records
    • Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping notices, or invoices to determine irregularities
    • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to the designated areas
    • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, and color or product code
    • Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
    • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves
    • Conveys order to packing station or shipping department
    • Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards; opens bales, crates, and other containers
    • Operates material handling equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations within the plant for shipment
    • Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
    • Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
    • Other duties as assigned

    What You’ll Bring:

    • High school diploma or GED is required and 3 months of related experience and/or training
    • Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers
    • Basic skill level of computer programs such as Microsoft Office are highly desirable
