We are seeking an experienced
Master Scheduler to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation and help ensure customer commitments are met through effective production planning, scheduling, and coordination.
This role serves as a key link between production, purchasing, inventory, engineering, and customer-facing teams. The Master Scheduler will develop and maintain production schedules, monitor work in process, identify potential delays, and proactively adjust priorities to keep materials and work orders moving efficiently through the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable making scheduling decisions in a dynamic environment where priorities, material availability, equipment capacity, and customer requirements can change quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and inventory levels.
Release, prioritize, and coordinate work orders across the production floor.
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to changing customer demand, material shortages, equipment downtime, labor availability, or other operational constraints.
Expedite materials, components, and work orders to prevent or resolve production delays.
Coordinate with purchasing and supply chain personnel to ensure raw materials and purchased components are available when required.
Partner with warehouse and inventory teams to support appropriate inventory levels and material availability.
Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and potential delivery risks to internal stakeholders.
Balance customer delivery requirements with production capacity and operational efficiency.
Identify scheduling conflicts, production bottlenecks, and capacity constraints and work with appropriate teams to develop solutions.
Maintain accurate work order, production, and scheduling information within ERP/MRP systems.
Track and report production performance, scheduling metrics, and operational KPIs.
Prepare scheduling reports, production dashboards, and status updates for management.
Participate in production and operations meetings and provide updates on schedules, priorities, material constraints, and delivery commitments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving schedule adherence, reducing lead times, increasing throughput, and improving on-time delivery.
Qualifications
35+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, production control, expediting, or a related manufacturing operations role.
Demonstrated experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and material requirements planning principles.
Experience working with ERP and/or MRP systems.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate production and scheduling data.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with production, purchasing, engineering, inventory, warehouse, and other cross-functional teams.
Ability to analyze production information, identify potential issues, and make sound scheduling decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain effective and make informed decisions when production priorities or customer requirements change.
Desired Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field.
APICS / ASCM certification or other relevant supply chain or production planning certification.
Experience developing production metrics, reports, or performance dashboards.
Experience supporting continuous improvement, lead-time reduction, or manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
Experience working in an environment involving complex or highly technical manufactured products.
