Description

BlueWave is hiring a Master Controls Technician for a fabrication client based in Fort Worth, Texas. As Master Controls Technician, you will own industrial electrical and controls builds from planning through final quality inspection. This hands-on role combines custom control-panel construction, wiring, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical and controls builds from initial planning through completion
  • Build and wire custom control panels from technical prints
  • Perform industrial wiring, controls, and instrumentation work
  • Work directly on industrial equipment assemblies
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and mechanical issues independently
  • Inspect completed work and ensure it meets required quality standards
  • Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work as needed
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to electrical technicians
  • Support the continued growth of the electrical technician team

Requirements

  • Advanced controls, distributed control system, and industrial electrical experience
  • Strong industrial wiring and controls capabilities
  • Experience building instrumentation and control panels
  • Ability to build custom control panels accurately from prints
  • Understanding of the engineering principles behind industrial control systems
  • Ability to run wire and perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work
  • Strong independent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to own a build without step-by-step direction
  • Leadership experience overseeing electrical technicians
  • Strong quality-control and inspection capabilities
  • Willingness to work in a role that is approximately evenly divided between electrical and mechanical responsibilities
  • Management and computer skills preferred
  • Controls engineering experience involving both design and hands-on implementation is welcomed

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire with an initial 6-month contract period; 100% onsite in Fort Worth, Texas
Pay Range: $35–$40 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; four 10-hour shifts with potential overtime
