DPP is seeking a
Mass Properties Engineer II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Work location: Onsite in Vandalia, OH
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 Contract
Work authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Position Summary: - As a Mass Properties Engineer II, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products & services. These cover a very wide range from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.
- You'll be responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems.
- Your technical responsibilities involve design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:- Perform detailed mass properties calculations and analyses for aerospace components and systems.
- Develop and maintain mass properties models and databases.
- Conduct and oversee mass properties testing and validation.
- Inventory and weigh aircraft.
- Generate aircraft weight and balance paperwork.
- Collaborate with design and analysis teams to incorporate mass properties data into project workflows.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
- Experience in aircraft inventory.
- Experience in mass properties calculations, analysis, modeling, and testing
- Have the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with advanced mass properties analysis software and tools.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
