PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Marketing Specialist supports the execution of Care to Learn's marketing, communications, branding, and public relations efforts to advance the organization's mission, visibility, and impact. Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing, this role assists in developing engaging content, coordinating marketing initiatives, maintaining brand consistency, and supporting community engagement efforts across multiple platforms and audiences.
The Marketing Specialist works collaboratively with all Care to Learn departments, Chapters, vendors, and community partners to help strengthen organizational storytelling, digital engagement, donor communication, and public awareness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS
Marketing and Communications Support
Assist with the implementation of marketing and communications strategies that align with Care to Learn's mission, vision, and organizational priorities. Create, coordinate, and distribute marketing content across digital, print, and social media platforms. Support storytelling initiatives by gathering photos, videos, testimonials, and success stories from Chapters, schools, and community partners. Assist with writing and editing e-newsletters, press releases, website content, donor communications, presentations, and promotional materials. Help maintain brand consistency across all communications, marketing materials, and platforms.
Digital Marketing and Content Management
Assist with updates to website content, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns. Assist in creating graphics, videos, and multimedia content for campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives. Monitor digital engagement metrics and analytics to help evaluate campaign performance and audience engagement. Support search engine optimization (SEO), digital advertising, and online engagement strategies. Coordinate content calendars and assist with scheduling and publishing communications.
Community Engagement and Public Relations
Assist with public relations and community engagement efforts through media coordination, event promotion, and partnership communications. Assist with outreach to schools, Chapters, sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders. Help coordinate marketing support for fundraising campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives. Represent Care to Learn professionally at events, meetings, and community activities, as needed. Respond to routine marketing and communications requests in a timely and professional manner.
Administrative and Organizational Support
Maintain organized marketing files, photo libraries, brand assets, and communication records. Coordinate with external vendors, photographers, videographers, print companies, and marketing partners as assigned. Assist with project coordination, timelines, and production schedules. Support department budgeting processes, invoice tracking, and purchasing requests as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals and initiatives.

Ability to create engaging and professional marketing and communication materials. Working knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing, and content management. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace, social media tools, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platforms, and basic analytics tools. Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining professionalism and accuracy. Ability to travel throughout the Care to Learn region for events, meetings, and organizational initiatives as needed.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital marketing, or related field preferred. Experience supporting social media management, content creation, or marketing campaigns preferred. Experience with graphic design, photography, video editing, or website management is a plus. Experience in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
