Marketing Specialist

Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the organization’s programs, events, and initiatives. This role manages content creation, social media, outreach efforts, and community engagement to strengthen the organization’s brand and visibility. The Marketing Specialist collaborates with staff to highlight program successes, supports event promotion, and ensures consistent messaging across all communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in creating engaging content for various platforms such as social media, websites, and print materials. Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, including strategy development, content creation, and performance analysis, is crucial. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a passion for promoting positive youth development and healthy relationships, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of the unique nuances of the respective markets. Knowledge of sexual risk avoidance education or related topics is a plus.

Education Requirements:
The Marketing Specialist should possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. Candidates with demonstrated professional experience in marketing, social media management, content creation, or public relations may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Coursework or training in digital marketing, graphic design, brand management, and analytics is strongly preferred. Experience working with nonprofit organizations or community-based programs and the ability to engage diverse audiences are considered valuable assets for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage marketing strategies to promote programs, events, and organizational initiatives.
• Create compelling content for print, digital, and social media platforms to engage diverse audiences and strengthen the organization’s brand.
• Design and produce marketing materials, including flyers, newsletters, brochures, and presentations.
• Manage the organization’s social media accounts, ensuring consistent messaging and timely updates.
• Monitor and analyze marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and inform future strategies.
• Collaborate with program staff to highlight successes, program outcomes, and community impact through storytelling and media outreach.
• Coordinate media relations, including press releases, interviews, and public-facing announcements.
• Assist in the planning and execution of events, fundraisers, and outreach initiatives to enhance visibility and community engagement.
• Maintain a content calendar and ensure alignment of all communications with organizational goals and messaging standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and media outlets to support marketing initiatives.
• Provide regular reports on marketing activities, engagement, and outcomes to leadership.
• Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
