Goldberg Segalla is a national civil litigation law firm that represents major national and regional companies and insurance carriers in all aspects of business counseling, risk assessment and dispute resolution including representation in various types of claims, controversies and litigation involving personal and other injuries, property damage, contract disputes and business torts. Goldberg Segalla has an immediate opportunity for a Marketing Specialist in its Buffalo office.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Specialist manages recurring, deadline-driven marketing programs focused on legal rankings and awards, firm and industry surveys, case wins and successes, and marketing metrics reporting. This role is best suited for a highly detail-oriented, organized, and persistent professional who can manage complex tracking systems, attorney outreach, confidential information, and overlapping deadlines with accuracy and follow-through. The Marketing Specialist works closely with Marketing leadership, writers, PR and other team members to collect information, coordinate approvals, maintain complete records, and move each program from planning through completion.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Awards, Rankings & Legal Directory Administration
 
  • Manage firm participation in legal rankings, awards, recognitions, and professional directories, including Chambers, Best Lawyers, Ones to Watch, Super Lawyers, Best Law Firms, Martindale-Hubbell, Legal 500, Law360, Am Law 200, and related recognition programs.
  • Maintain award calendars, submission schedules, embargo dates, nominations, reference lists, referee lists, submission trackers, and supporting records.
  • Maintain attorney information and profiles within ranking and award systems, including names, practice areas, locations, and other required information.
  • Conduct extensive attorney outreach to collect required information, coordinate participation, obtain approvals, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Coordinate submission logistics, approvals, uploads, announcements, and related communications.
  • Maintain award and recognition tracking systems and historical records.
     
Surveys & Industry Submissions
 
  • Manage survey calendars, deadlines, supporting documentation, and submission records.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain confidential data required for survey responses.
  • Prepare materials for review and approval and coordinate final submission of surveys and benchmarking opportunities.
  • Maintain records of submitted materials and results.
     
Wins & Successes Program Management
 
  • Administer and maintain the firm’s Wins & Successes Tracker and related records.
  • Collect, catalog, and maintain records of approved case wins, representative matters, successes, and case summaries for future marketing and business development use.
  • Conduct attorney outreach and follow-up to obtain missing information and support accurate recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, content writers, public relations personnel, and Marketing team members throughout the collection and approval process.
  • Maintain categorization, tagging, status tracking, and approved-use designations to support content creation, submissions, awards, rankings, website content, public relations, proposals, social media, and other visibility initiatives.
  • Maintain complete, searchable records and supporting documentation for cataloged wins and successes.
     
Marketing Metrics & Reporting

 
  • Maintain marketing metrics files, reporting templates, tracking mechanisms, and supporting documentation.
  • Collect and compile marketing activity data from internal sources and team members.
  • Prepare recurring firmwide, practice group, quarterly, mid-year, annual, and other marketing reports.
  • Maintain reporting records and documentation supporting consistent metrics reporting across the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:      

 
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in marketing, professional services, program coordination, data administration, or a related support role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing complex records, deadlines, and submissions.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple recurring projects and overlapping deadlines.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills and the persistence and judgment required to conduct extensive attorney outreach.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to learn and work effectively in award, survey, directory, tracking, and project-management systems.
  • Asana project-management experience preferred.
  • Works well in a team environment and can interact effectively with attorneys, leadership, and Marketing team members.
  • Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences.
  • Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature.
  • Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English.
  • Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents in printed form and on computer screens.
  • May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
The salary range for this position is $50,000- $57,000/ year. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
