Marketing & Proposal Specialist

Overview

VCBO Architecture seeks a Marketing & Proposal Specialist who enjoys writing, design, and collaboration to help us pursue exciting new architecture and interior design projects. You'll work closely with architects and designers to understand project opportunities, develop compelling content, and create proposals that showcase our people, experience, and approach.

Proposals will be the primary focus of your work. You'll write and edit content, develop engaging layouts in Adobe InDesign, and coordinate the details that keep submissions on track. You'll also contribute to other marketing efforts, including presentations, award submissions, as well as social media and website content.

VCBO Architecture is an architecture and interior design firm with offices in Salt Lake City, St. George, and Honolulu. From schools and healthcare facilities to commercial spaces and places of worship, VCBO designs spaces that make a difference in people's lives. As part of our marketing team, you'll collaborate with architects, designers, and firm leaders to tell the stories behind our work, highlight our expertise, and help position VCBO for new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the proposal process from kickoff through submission and interview, including writing, editing, production, coordination, and quality control.
• Review proposal requests, identify requirements, and develop submission schedules. Proactively coordinate contributions, gather information, and keep the team on track.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, consultants, and firm leaders to develop compelling, client-focused proposals that highlight our team's qualifications, experience, and approach.
• Create layouts in Adobe InDesign that are easy to read and consistent with VCBO’s branding. Check final submissions for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and completeness.
• Keep project information, resumes, photography, and proposal resources organized and current.
• Track potential project opportunities and prepare interview presentations, award submissions, and website and social media content as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions and turn complex information into clear, compelling content.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, with working knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud applications and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A collaborative, proactive approach to working with colleagues, coordinating input, navigating revisions, and taking ownership of assignments from start to finish.
• Ability to work independently and keep projects moving in a deadline-driven environment.

Experience preparing proposals or marketing materials for an architecture, engineering, construction, or other professional services firm is helpful but not required. Familiarity with marketing databases or customer relationship management (CRM) software is also a plus.
