Our client, a very stable long-time in business (135 years) personal care portfolio global company, is currently seeking a Marketing Manager on their supplements portfolio (mostly for females). Ideally east coast based candidate (PA, NJ, NY, DE). Roll-up-your-sleeves Marketing Manager/Brand leader who can be both executional and strategic. May be open
to remote based if on the east coast or CST with some travel. Supplements experience ideal
background.
Build and manage new brand strategy and innovation in the female supplements category mainly in the US, together with VP new business development.
The Marketing Manager supports the Category Leader with the development, management and
execution of the brand strategy and objectives in the assigned Category to achieve performance KPIsincluding sales, profit and
category goals. Works directly with the Category Leader to lead the category team to execute
business strategies and achieve KPIs for the category. This includes leading the business planning
process, forecasting process, new product development, brand communication, brand management and Sales meeting planning.
Responsibilities:
· Develops and executes comprehensive marketing and sales strategies for the category that are consistent with the short- and long-term Category strategy. This would include market and promotion plans and Customer/Channel
plans for the category brands.
· Manages Marketing activities including advertising, branding, new product launches and
market research.
Collaborates with the Data Analytics team to analyze market trends and consumer behavior to
identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Lead the Category team and the cross functional
team on innovation.
· Oversees the management of the brand unit & $ forecast for financial estimates,
manufacturing and inventory control.
· Leads and assists in the Collaborative Business Planning process for the Category brands.
Collaborates with the leaders in the other Categories for a seamless process and to deliver on the stated goals of this process.
· Leads the Category team to develop and execute the integrated business plans to achieve
growth and profit goals.
· Represents Category/Brand strategy in the Management meetings, NPD meetings and to
Senior Management on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
· Works in conjunction with the Category Leader to set the Category budget and with the
Category Team to allocate resources including marketing programs. Evaluates the effectiveness of
the spend on those programs.
· Leads the identification and development of new, unique products with competitive points of difference, working closely with R&D, Operations, Finance, agencies and other stakeholders.
High energy level with can do attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
to influence others and to achieve desired results.
Good control of managing resources and timelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to be effective at both middle and senior management levels.
Entrepreneurial instincts with a keen ability to see opportunities through the eyes of the consumer.
Strong business acumen with common sense, practical and hands-on approach.
The ideal candidate should be strategic, analytical, well-articulated, a team player, possess the ability to present findings and recommendations to
management in a comprehensive and concise manner. The candidate would be able to work well
with Customer Marketing, Sales,
Manufacturing, Research and Development, Finance, Digital &
e-commerce and all other departments of the company.
