Who We Are:

At UES, we’re a team of more than 4,000 engineers, scientists, geologists, inspectors, technicians, and drillers united by a shared purpose—to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Learn more about the benefits of joining Team UES and our core values at careers.teamues.com.

Position Overview:

This isn’t a “fetch coffee and make copies” internship—it’s a chance to immerse yourself in real-world marketing for a growing engineering firm. At UES, we know marketing looks different in the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry, which is why we’ve built a structured, module-based curriculum. You’ll gain exposure to both technical service lines and creative strategy, learning how to craft marketing pieces that highlight engineering solutions and help grow our business.

Don’t know what geotechnical engineering is? There’s a module for that. Curious about how a drill rig works or what happens on an active construction site? There’s a module for that. Unsure what RFQ or RFP means? We’ll cover that too. By summer’s end, you’ll understand both the “what” and the “why” behind A/E/C marketing—and have tangible work samples to prove it.

Where This Can Take You:
By completing this internship, you’ll gain marketing experience in a specialized technical industry, a capstone project for your portfolio, and exposure to how business development and marketing drive growth in A/E/C. Whether your next step is content creation, communications, or proposal management, you’ll have practical skills and work samples to back it up.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the research, writing, editing, and production of RFQs, RFPs, and other client-focused collateral.
  • Create polished project cut sheets and professional résumés for UES offices.
  • Take and curate project photography to showcase our work.
  • Support pursuit organization, filing, and other administrative tasks that keep the marketing team running smoothly.
  • Gain insight into the link between engineering expertise and business growth through exposure to technical service lines and client-facing deliverables.

Capstone Project:
At the end of the summer, you’ll complete a specialized capstone project—such as developing a marketing campaign concept, creating a portfolio of cut sheets, or producing a case study on a completed pursuit. You’ll present your work to department leadership, giving you a résumé-ready deliverable that highlights your marketing skills in a technical industry.
