    Description

Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) is seeking a Marketing Insight Analyst to join our Marketing Analytics team supporting Whole Foods Market, Amazon Grocery, and all new grocery channels and store formats.

In this role, you will deliver data-driven insights that drive business decisions within WWGS Marketing. You will measure marketing effectiveness across channels including email, push notifications, paid media, organic search, and onsite experiences. You will work on projects based on stakeholder requests from Marketing, providing input on marketing campaigns, proposing analytical approaches to solve business problems, solving those problems, and providing actionable recommendations to the business. You will partner closely with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIE) to build data pipelines and dashboards to allow marketing, the team, and yourself, to get to insights faster.

You will contribute to the delivery of marketing performance reports, including Weekly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, and Quarterly Planning Reports. You will conduct diagnostic and root cause analyses on marketing data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for optimization of the message, channel, or budget. You will translate business needs into analytical solutions and recommendations, using SQL to analyze data and data visualization tools to tell the story that informs marketing investment decisions.

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in SQL, marketing analytics, and exploratory data analysis, with the ability to work independently and communicate complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning to distinguish between one-way and two-way doors, and balancing tactical delivery with process improvement opportunities. You are detail-oriented, proactive in monitoring business performance, and passionate about asking questions of data and digging for nuggets of insight.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Use SQL and exploratory data analysis to interrogate marketing data, segment performance, and pressure-test hypotheses, turning open-ended questions into clear, evidence-backed answers.
    • Translate marketing business needs into analytical solutions, proposing measurement frameworks and analytical approaches to stakeholders.
    • Present analytical findings and recommendations to Director-level leaders, translating technical complexity into clear business insights, and measuring the impact of the decision made.
    • Conduct targeted diagnostic and root cause analyses on marketing data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities. Explain why it happened and what actions need to be taken.
    • Own the delivery of marketing performance reports including Weekly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, Monthly Performance Reports, and Quarterly Planning Reports with timely, accurate insights on campaign performance and business trends.
    • Proactively monitor marketing performance metrics to maintain awareness of business trends, identify anomalies requiring investigation, and discover insights to optimize marketing operations.
    • Build and leverage dashboard tools (QuickSight, Tableau) to aid in the discovery of insights.
    • Serve as the grocery and analytics subject-matter expert in partnership with BIE.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
