Marketing Finance Analyst

  • Location: United States
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM, candidate's local time zone
  • Hours: 40 hours per week; overtime expectations not specified

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Marketing Finance Analyst to support finance operations across marketing and related business teams. This role will focus on budget management, financial tracking, forecasting, invoicing, reporting, and process improvement while partnering with finance, marketing, procurement, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Track marketing budgets and spending while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze variances between actual spending, forecasts, and planned budgets and provide insights to improve financial decisions.
  • Support monthly forecasting, accruals, budget transfers, and financial reporting processes.
  • Manage purchase orders, receipts, invoices, approvals, and expedited payment requests.
  • Reconcile invoices and receipts against purchase orders and coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure financial controls, policies, and data integrity are upheld.
  • Partner with marketing, finance, procurement, and other cross-functional teams to resolve finance-related questions and support timely outcomes.
  • Support month-end reporting and forecast submissions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify financial processes, improve efficiency, and increase budget visibility.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on financial processes and process updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in finance, marketing finance, operations, or a related analytical role.
  • Hands-on experience managing financial tracking systems, purchase orders, receipts, and accruals.
  • Experience monitoring actuals and forecasts against large, multimillion-dollar budgets.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial controls.
  • Experience using procurement or finance systems such as Coupa, Zip, uSurv, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and Google Workspace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and ownership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reconciling invoices for media agencies or external vendors.
  • Experience tracking external vendor status.
  • Experience creating training materials or leading financial training sessions.
  • Experience supporting onboarding or financial office hours.
  • Experience working in a technology or other fast-paced environment.
