Position
The Marketing & Events Manager reports directly to the Liquor Operations Director and is responsible for overseeing all liquor store marketing initiatives, special events, private rentals, and club programming. This position leads customer engagement strategies that increase sales, enhance the customer experience, and strengthen community relationships.
The position ensures that marketing, promotional, event, and customer engagement activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, City policies, and Lakeville Liquors operational standards.
The Marketing & Events Manager supervises one part-time Marketing Specialist and three part-time Event Staff employees and is responsible for providing direction, training, scheduling, performance feedback, and oversight of their work.
The Marketing & Events Manager is accountable for ensuring marketing and event initiatives are strategically planned, effectively executed, fiscally responsible, consistent with the Lakeville Liquors brand, and aligned with the overall goals and priorities of the liquor operation.
Major Areas of Accountability
Marketing & Community Engagement
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote liquor store products, services, events, clubs, and rental opportunities.
Oversee all digital and print marketing efforts including social media, website content, email campaigns, flyers, signage, and advertisements.
Track marketing analytics and prepare reports.
Coordinate marketing campaigns for Taste of Lakeville, Wine Club, Beer Club, Learn with Lakeville, educational tastings, and private events.
Maintain and update marketing calendars and promotional schedules.
Collaborate with vendors, distributors, and community partners on promotional opportunities and sponsorships.
Analyze campaign performance and customer engagement metrics to improve effectiveness.
Ensure branding and messaging remain professional and consistent across all communication platforms.
Coordinate invitations, ticketing, and customer communication for events and rentals.
Event & Rental Management
Oversee all event and rental operations including planning, scheduling, budgeting, logistics, staffing, and execution.
Manage event calendar, reservations, contracts, invoices, and fee collection.
Coordinate vendors, caterers, entertainment, speakers, and rental partners.
Directly oversee product selection, beverage menus, and event coordination for all liquor store events and rentals.
Ensure event profitability by monitoring costs, analyzing reports, and adjusting pricing or offerings as necessary.
Attend and oversee major private and promotional events and serve as liaison between guests, vendors, and staff.
Conduct pre-event and post-event evaluations to improve operations and customer experience.
Schedule appropriate staffing levels for events and rentals.
Coordinate ordering of food, beer, wine, spirits and event supplies.
Complete inventory counts regularly on bar supply.
Prepare monthly events and operational reports for the Operations Director.
Responsible for assigning work, scheduling, training and performance management to assigned staff to ensure excellent customer service and event execution.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT: Employees who enroll in a flexible spending account are allowed to set aside pre-tax dollars to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses for both medical and dental expenses. In addition, pre-tax dollars can be set aside for dependent daycare.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Employees are able to designate and set aside a part of income on a tax-deferred basis.
