Marketing Coordinator

Gertens is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our Marketing team. This role supports marketing initiatives across Gertens and the Gertens Family of Businesses, with a primary focus on print production, signage, digital displays, and marketing project coordination.

The ideal candidate enjoys managing multiple projects, has a strong eye for detail and visual presentation, and can effectively coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and retail locations to bring marketing projects from concept to completion.

This is a hands-on role that combines marketing coordination, print production, quality control, and creative support in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.

What You''ll Do:

Print Production & Signage

• Coordinate the production, printing, preparation, and distribution of plant, retail, promotional, sale, event, and internal signage across Gertens, Spikes & Houles, and other GFOB locations.
• Manage specialty and large-format printing projects, including wallpaper, window coverings, banners, brochures, business cards, coupons, and other marketing materials.
• Monitor print requests and coupon needs, coordinate required information with Purchasing, and ensure materials are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Determine appropriate printing materials and production methods based on intended use, location, and durability requirements.

Signage Quality & Asset Management

• Conduct regular sign walks to ensure signage is accurate, current, properly placed, legible, and consistent with pricing and brand standards.
• Proofread and quality-check signage and printed materials before production, including copy, artwork, sizing, color, and overall presentation.
• Maintain organized signage inventory, sign bins, and unused materials across GFOB locations.
• Organize and maintain Marketing files for signage, print materials, digital displays, billboards, and other marketing assets.
• Monitor print equipment and supplies, coordinate maintenance needs, and work with vendors regarding materials, quotes, and equipment servicing.

Marketing Project Coordination

• Manage print and signage projects from request through production, quality review, and delivery, maintaining timelines and prioritizing projects based on business needs.
• Manage Sign Request Boards and coordinate with Graphic Designers, Photographers, and other Marketing team members on templates, print-ready files, brochures, catalogs, banners, and other marketing materials.
• Serve as a key liaison between Marketing and retail managers, communicating campaigns, promotions, pricing updates, and signage needs while gathering feedback from the field.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Greenhouse Production regarding sales, pricing changes, new products, and plant transfers requiring updated signage.

Digital Displays & Advertising

• Manage and update in-store digital displays at Gertens and Spikes & Houles, including product pricing, seasonal promotions, events, and advertising.
• Design, schedule, and maintain digital billboard content and schedules for Gertens and the Spikes & Houles Elk River location.
• Ensure digital content is accurate, timely, visually consistent, and aligned with current marketing campaigns.

Marketing Support

• Assist with photography and video shoots and obtain current product and plant photography for signage and other marketing needs.
• Participate actively in Marketing meetings and contribute to department projects, process improvements, and marketing initiatives.
• Provide additional marketing and production support as needed to meet seasonal and business priorities.

What We''re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graphic design experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong proofreading and quality-control skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of teams, including Marketing, Purchasing, Greenhouse Production, and retail management.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, and adapt to changing seasonal business needs.
• A creative eye and interest in visual presentation, branding, and marketing materials.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position primarily works in an office environment, with flexibility to work outdoors and in retail and greenhouse environments as needed.

The position may occasionally require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds. The role requires close vision and the ability to communicate effectively through speaking and listening. Employees are frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The position periodically requires reaching with hands and arms and may occasionally require standing, walking, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending.
