Marketing & Communications Coordinator (69851)

JOB SUMMARY

The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director of Fundraising & Development and is a key member of the Development & Communications Team. Key responsibilities include implementing communications strategies that promote VOACC's fundraising efforts; housing, health & human services programs; and maximizing donor engagement. Supports the Development & Communications Team with hosting community events to grow VOACC's presence and support base.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement communications strategies that promote VOACC's fundraising campaigns, events and donor engagement
• Manage VOACC's monthly e-newsletter and social media presence for an external audience of donors and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with VOACC's external vendors to create digital and printed marketing collateral
• Efficiently manage and publish updates to VOACC's website, ensuring that the content is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging for the audience.
• Analyze various media markets to identify key reporters and influencers, targeting them for media outreach efforts to maximize VOACC's exposure and impact.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics planning, ensuring smooth execution of projects and events.
• Liaise with VOACC program staff to identify, gather and write consumer stories that demonstrate VOACC's impact
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities, engagement levels, and progress
• Occasionally capture video and photography of VOACC's consumers and staff as needed
• Occasionally craft compelling press releases and other articles
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably at nonprofit
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite and Wordpress
• Strong writing, editing and proofing skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with graphic design preferred
• Experience capturing and editing video preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
• Ability to travel when necessary to interview program consumers and staff for testimonials
