Marketing & Business Development Representative

Senior Helpers of Westminster is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Marketing & Business Development Representative to grow our presence throughout Carroll, Frederick, and Howard Counties.
Since 2002, Senior Helpers has been a national leader in professional in-home senior care. We help older adults remain safe, independent, and supported in the comfort of their own homes.
This position combines healthcare marketing, business development, community outreach, lead follow-up, and client intake/assessment responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable prospecting, cold calling, networking, walking into new referral sources, following up consistently, and turning relationships into referrals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, hospice, home health, physician practices, social workers, case managers, elder-law professionals, VA resources, and other senior-care organizations.
- Prospect for new business through cold calling, in-person outreach, networking, community events, and direct relationship development.
- Personally visit and walk into new referral sources throughout the assigned territory.
- Maintain approximately 8–10 meaningful referral-source contacts or engagements per business day, based on territory needs.
- Follow up consistently with referral sources and work to convert professional relationships into qualified referrals.
- Generate and follow up on qualified prospective-client leads.
- Gather information regarding client needs, routines, preferences, mobility, ADLs, safety concerns, schedules, and caregiver requirements.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition from consultation to care
- Assist prospective clients and families through the intake and start-of-care process.
- Develop new lead sources through face-to-face meetings, networking, presentations, community events, and strategic outreach.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, healthcare events, and community programs.
- Conduct presentations and educational meetings regarding Senior Helpers services.
- Maintain the CRM and accurately document marketing activity, referral sources, leads, assessments, follow-up, and outcomes.
- Maintain a monthly marketing calendar and territory plan.
- Track KPIs including referrals, assessments, new clients, conversion rates, recurring service hours, and business generated.
- Assist with social media, digital marketing, community campaigns, and other marketing initiatives in collaboration with leadership and the Senior Helpers marketing team.
- Monitor local competitors, market trends, and new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in marketing, business, healthcare, or related field or approximately three years of related sales, marketing, business development, home care, home health, or healthcare experience.
- Healthcare, home care, senior living, hospice, home health, or medical sales experience preferred.
- Existing healthcare or senior-care referral relationships are strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable prospecting, cold calling, networking, walking into unfamiliar referral sources, asking for business, and following up repeatedly and professionally.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to turn professional relationships into qualified referrals and measurable business growth.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable meeting with seniors and families and conducting client intake/service assessments.
- Ability to learn care needs, agency services, and when concerns must be escalated for nursing review.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn CRM and healthcare software.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
Compensation & Benefits
- $50,000–$55,000 annual base salary, depending on experience
