    The Marketing Automation & Email Marketing Manager is a hands-on technical and strategic role responsible for owning the marketing automation platform and email marketing program end-to-end. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud, designing and executing data-driven, personalized customer journeys while also managing all email campaigns, distribution, and performance reporting.

    The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud with strong design sensibility, creative instincts, and a passion for delivering measurable results. They will collaborate closely with marketing, IT, sales, and divisional teams to ensure the platform is leveraged to its fullest potential.

    Essential Functions

    Technical & Platform Management

    • Serve as the primary SME for Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder) and Salesforce Data Cloud
    • Collaborate with our development team to design, implement, and maintain data models and integrations between Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and other business systems (ex. CRM, dashboards, etc.)
    • Develop and manage end-to-end customer journey orchestration, delivering timely and personalized omni-channel experiences
    • Build, test, and deploy email campaigns, perform render testing across devices, email clients, and ISPs
    • Manage audience segmentation, distribution list hygiene, and data imports/exports/transformations
    • Own the email calendar for all customer-facing and employee-facing communications, including build, testing, and approvals workflow
    • Implement and maintain marketing automation workflows, drip campaigns, and lifecycle journeys
    • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all marketing platforms

    Strategy & Campaign Performance

    • Develop and execute robust audience segmentation strategies grounded in customer data and business objectives
    • Optimize campaigns for maximum impact and ROI, leveraging data and analytics
    • Streamline email communication strategy to ensure succinct, relevant messaging with clear calls-to-action
    • Monitor and analyze campaign performance against key KPIs (deliverability, open rate, click rate, bounce rate, unsubscribe rate, revenue) and report findings and recommendations to leadership
    • Collaborate with marketing, divisional, IT, and sales teams to align integrated marketing strategies and execution
    • Interpret business needs into technical requirements for journey and campaign builds

    Continuous Learning & Innovation

    • Develop a strong business acumen for Carolina Cat's products, offers, services, and business practices
    • Stay current on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud feature releases, best practices, and industry trends
    • Monitor evolving email deliverability rules, design trends, and emerging technologies to enhance digital marketing effectiveness
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data, integrations, and campaigns

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    • 4-year degree in marketing, design, communications, business administration or a related field is required
    • 3+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in marketing automation or a closely related digital marketing role is required
    • Deep knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder) and Data Cloud is required
    • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud and data unification strategies strongly preferred
    • Proven experience developing and executing omni-channel marketing automation programs
    • Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles
    • Proficiency in HTML/CSS required
    • Experience with AMPscript and SQL required
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred

    Skills & Competencies

    • Excellent understanding of usability, UX methodology, design principles, and corporate branding
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and executive-level reporting
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
    • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills; able to navigate multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Intellectually curious, self-motivated, and proactive about emerging trends and technologies
    • Strong relationship-building skills with a proven ability to collaborate across team boundaries and functions

    Certificates & Licenses

    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification required
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant and/or Data Cloud certification required
