POSITION: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Center for Cultural Liberation

REPORTS TO: Associate Director

HOURS NEEDED PER WEEK: 10 (fall and spring semesters)

HOURLY RATE: $15.00

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT (APPROXIMATE): August 2026 - May 2027

EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL DOMINICAN EMPLOYEES:

JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and distribute print and digital materials (flyers, newsletter, etc.)
  • Retouch and manipulate images
  • Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
  • Assemble presentation materials for CCL staff as needed
  • Manage social media sites to share information about CCL programming
  • Ensure proactive planning, communication and evaluation of Heritage events
  • Participate in planning committee meetings (draft agendas, take notes)
  • Serves on CCL planning committees, in collaboration with The Village and TDUS
  • Provides 7-8 hours a week of in-person office hours
  • Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned

BASIC COMPETENCIES: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities)

  • Experience with Canva, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Graphic design major/minor preferred or design portfolio
  • Experience managing social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Suitable)
  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and follow- up skills
  • Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, is highly reliable and dependable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and proficient use of Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel and Teams
