Market Risk Reporting / Financial Analytics Analyst
Location: 150 W University Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281-3640
Work Arrangement: Onsite 5 days per week
Duration: 3 Months with possible extension

  • Financial Analysis: Applies principles of finance to analyze and prepare financial operations/statements.
  • Data Analysis: Maintains accurate records in databases, generates reports, and analyzes data to support business objectives.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develops, maintains, and enhances financial and risk-related reporting and metrics.

Roles and Responsibilities
Report Production & Development
  • Produce periodic Market Risk reports and metrics, including regulatory reporting.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to automate manual processes.
  • Proactively identify control gaps, improve controls, and resolve issues.
  • Develop new reports and metrics to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Support control processes through periodic review of reports and maintain relevant documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and lines of business, primarily Market Risk Coverage, Product Controllers, Technology, Compliance, and Audit.
  • Collaborate on report production, migration testing, and projects.
  • Contribute to the implementation of key business decisions and change initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of executive management and peers.
  • Interact with global internal stakeholders and regulators.
Team Leadership & Project Management
  • Lead multiple projects and reporting requirements while working with teams across the globe.
  • Create work plans and manage expectations and quality standards for required deliverables.
  • Manage recurring reporting, ad hoc requests/research, and project-related activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in reporting, financial analytics, data analysis, or similar roles.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets within relevant business contexts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, COGNOS, Alteryx, or similar.
  • Experience within the financial industry, particularly in Risk, Finance, Compliance, or Controls, is highly preferred.
  • Strong reporting, visualization, and Microsoft Office/technology skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong self-review skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and continuously progress toward business objectives.
  • BA/BS degree , preferably in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is an added advantage.

  1. Strong Excel and BI skills Proficiency in Excel and experience with Tableau, COGNOS, Alteryx, or similar BI/reporting tools.
  2. Financial industry experience Background in Risk, Finance, Compliance, and/or Controls.
  3. Strong independent work skills Ability to multitask, think independently, prioritize work, and continuously make progress toward business objectives.

Typical Day
  • Standard working hours are generally 9:00 AM 5:00 PM.
  • Prepare and maintain recurring reports.
  • Handle ad hoc requests, research, and analysis.
  • Work on ongoing projects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with global internal stakeholders and regulators.
  • Occasional early meetings may be required to accommodate global stakeholders.
  • Occasional late finishes may be required to close out end-of-day processes.

Important Assignment Requirements / Disqualifiers
  • Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in Tempe, AZ.
  • Candidates requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible, as this role may have an opportunity to convert to FTE.
  • Candidates without demonstrated technical/reporting skills are not a fit.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience with Excel and Microsoft Suite tools, as well as visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau, COGNOS, Alteryx, or similar.

What Will Stand Out on a Resume
