Company Summary: Our client is a technology driven global renewable energy power generation firm. As they continue to grow across their industry, they are looking to hire a Market Risk Analyst for their team in Houston to cover end-to-end market risk monitoring across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets.
The Market Risk Analyst will be responsible for:
- Monitoring daily market risk exposures, limits, and key risk indicators across the business
- Performing ad hoc risk analysis and investigating market risk exceptions, data integrity issues, and reporting anomalies
- Partnering closely with Trading, Middle Office, Risk Analytics, and IT to resolve technical and operational issues impacting risk outputs
- Acting as a key liaison between business and technology stakeholders, helping to translate business requirements into tangible solutions
- Designing, building, and maintaining Python and SQL/CDH based controls and automation, while reducing manual processes and failure dependencies
- Improving data quality, strengthening control environments, and reducing reliance on manual processes
Job Qualifications:
- 2-5 years in data analytics, reporting development, risk systems, market risk, or related analytical disciplines
- Experience supporting commodity trading or operational risk in a production environment
- Strong technical skills in Python coding, ET-RM systems, SQL/CDH, and experience working with large data sets and reporting tools
- Understanding of core market risk concepts, including risk limits, exposure monitoring, reporting controls, and risk governance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability of work cross-functionally across technical and business operations
