Converge Medical Technology is seeking an accomplished healthcare or medical sales professional to build and grow our Chicago market while developing toward broader sales leadership responsibility.
This is a field-based sales role for someone who has already demonstrated the ability to generate new business, develop strong professional relationships, and consistently execute against sales goals—and who is ready to demonstrate the ability to lead.
As Market Manager, you will own the development and performance of your assigned market. You will be responsible for creating new referral relationships, expanding existing accounts, executing a disciplined territory strategy, and delivering measurable revenue growth.
As the market expands, you may also have opportunities to coach, mentor, and support additional sales professionals.
For a high-performing Market Manager who demonstrates sustained results and leadership readiness, there may be an opportunity to be considered for advancement to a Regional Manager position with broader responsibility for developing people and markets across the Midwest.
Converge anticipates assessing leadership readiness approximately 6–12 months after hire. This timeframe is a development target and is not a guarantee of promotion. Advancement may occur sooner, later, or not at all depending on individual performance, demonstrated leadership readiness, organizational needs, available opportunities, and other legitimate business considerations.
You will take ownership of your territory and develop a disciplined strategy for creating sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
This is not a role focused solely on maintaining existing business. Success requires consistently creating new opportunities and converting those opportunities into sustainable referral relationships and revenue growth.
As the Chicago market grows and additional sales professionals are added, the Market Manager may have opportunities to coach, mentor, and support Sales Representatives and Sales Associates assigned to the market.
Leadership-development responsibilities may include:
Converge believes in developing future sales leaders from within the organization whenever appropriate.
A successful Market Manager who demonstrates sustained sales performance, leadership capability, operational discipline, successful market development, and alignment with Converge's values may be considered for advancement into a Regional Manager position.
A future Regional Manager assignment may include responsibility for helping Converge recruit, launch, develop, and lead sales professionals across approximately 2–3 Midwest markets.
The potential development path is:
Successful Sales Professional Market Leader Potential Regional Sales Leader
Advancement decisions are based on individual performance, demonstrated leadership readiness, organizational needs, available positions, and other legitimate business considerations. Participation in development activities or achievement of performance expectations does not guarantee promotion or advancement.
Formal people-management experience is helpful but is not required. We are also interested in accomplished senior sales professionals who have demonstrated the performance, capability, and desire to develop into formal sales leadership.
The people who succeed in this role enjoy building rather than simply maintaining.
You should be comfortable entering accounts where you do not already have established relationships, identifying the right decision-makers, earning meetings, creating value, and consistently following up until opportunities develop.
You should also be comfortable with both autonomy and accountability.
Our Market Managers have significant independence in managing their territories. With that independence comes responsibility for knowing your numbers, maintaining an accurate CRM, executing your territory plan, building a healthy pipeline, and being accountable for measurable results.
Long-term success in this position is not only about what you can personally sell. It is also about demonstrating the discipline, judgment, communication, and leadership capability required to eventually help other sales professionals succeed.
This is a field-based sales position serving the Chicago market.
Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is an essential part of the position. The Market Manager should expect to spend approximately five days per week in the field meeting with healthcare professionals, referral sources, customers, and other business partners.
Regular overnight travel is not currently anticipated, although occasional travel for company meetings, training, or other legitimate business purposes may be required.
Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to earn performance-based sales commissions.
At expected performance levels, anticipated total annual on-target earnings are approximately $125,000–$140,000, consisting of base salary plus anticipated commission earnings.
Commission opportunity is uncapped, creating the potential for total earnings above the stated on-target range when performance exceeds established sales objectives.
On-target earnings are estimates and are not guaranteed. Actual commission earnings may be higher or lower and will depend on individual performance and the terms and conditions of Converge Medical Technology's applicable sales compensation plan.
