Market Director, Information Technology & Systems (IT&S)
Position Overview
A leading regional healthcare network is seeking a strategic and operational Market Director of Information Technology & Systems (IT&S). This executive leadership role provides overarching strategic direction, operational oversight, and technology governance across all assigned healthcare facilities within the regional market.
The Market Director serves as the critical bridge between regional executive leadership and enterprise corporate IT. The successful candidate will align local technology initiatives with overarching corporate goals, drive digital transformation, ensure rigorous regulatory compliance, and lead a high-performing technical team to support high-quality patient care.
- Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
- Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Subject to flexibility based on business necessity)
- Travel: 25% – 50% travel required (Land and/or air)
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Enterprise Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between market/facility executive leadership and enterprise IT, ensuring regional operational needs are fully represented in corporate-wide planning.
- Strategic Planning: Spearhead the market’s IT strategic planning process, effectively aligning local technology roadmap initiatives with facility and corporate healthcare objectives.
- Financial Stewardship: Partner closely with market and facility financial leaders to implement robust IT cost-containment strategies, optimize resource allocation, and manage regional IT budgets.
IT Operations & Service Delivery
- Operational Oversight: Direct day-to-day market-level IT operations across all assigned facilities, including infrastructure, application management, cybersecurity protocols, and help desk support services.
- Enterprise Initiatives: Lead and support large-scale enterprise IT deployments across the market, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) upgrades, cybersecurity enhancements, and digital transformation projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence in IT service delivery by leveraging data analytics, performance benchmarking, and enterprise KPIs.
Compliance, Safety & Team Development
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total compliance with all applicable healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH), actively participating in healthcare audits and hospital accreditation processes.
- Talent Management: Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing market IT team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience Requirements
- Degree Option: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience Option: In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7+ years of direct, progressive experience in IT systems management will be considered.
- Management History: 5+ years of progressive IT management and leadership experience.
- Healthcare Domain: Minimum of 3 years of IT leadership experience directly within a healthcare environment, specifically managing multi-site or enterprise hospital IT operations.
Technical & Professional Competencies
- Healthcare IT Expertise: Deep operational familiarity with hospital IT infrastructure, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and medical facility applications.
- Security & Compliance: Strong technical understanding of healthcare cybersecurity best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
- Leadership Excellence: Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence matrixed organizational leaders.
Work Environment
- Setting: This position operates directly on-site within a hospital and clinical environment.
- Safety Protocols: In a hospital environment, personnel may be exposed to clinical hazards including bloodborne pathogens, contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials. Standard clinical safety training and protocols will be provided.
