Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Craft Mechanic position in Virginia Beach, Virginia! 
 
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining small craft, boats, or marine vessels.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing commercial and/or military outboard and inboard engines.
  • Knowledge of marine propulsion, steering, fuel, cooling, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maritime maintenance.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply OEM technical manuals and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Job Duties entail but are not limited to: 
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of military and commercial small craft, boats, trailers, personal watercraft, and marine propulsion systems.
  • Inspect, service, and repair outboard and inboard marine engines.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with OEM specifications, technical manuals, and government maintenance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, propulsion, steering, fuel, and cooling systems.
  • Support launch, recovery, and trailer maintenance operations.
  • Conduct depot-level maintenance on commercial and military marine equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts usage as required.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) and technical guidance to military personnel and entry-level civilian mechanics.
  • Support surge, training, deployment, and mission-related maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and waterfront work areas.
  • Perform work on docks, ramps, vessels afloat or ashore, and in other waterfront environments.
  • Comply with all applicable safety, hazardous material, environmental, and operational requirements.
Schedule: 
  • Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Pay: 
  • $54,000-$64,000 annual salary based on experience
