    Description

    Marching Band: Director

    Brockton High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Marching Band Director to lead and coordinate the schools marching band program. This position is responsible for designing and instructing the halftime show and overseeing all music, rehearsal, and performance aspects of the BHS Marching Band throughout the summer and school year.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan, coordinate, and instruct the marching band halftime show.

    Schedule and lead all rehearsals during summer band camp and throughout the school year.

    Select music performed:

    During halftime shows

    In the stands at athletic events

    For parades and other performances

    Design and teach marching drill and field formations.

    Collaborate with the marching band staff (Assistant Director, Winds, Percussion, Color Guard, Dance, and Majorette instructors) to design, develop, and refine the overall halftime show concept, music, visuals, and choreography.

    Collaborate with school administrators, athletic staff, and parent volunteers to ensure successful performances.

    Provide leadership, musical instruction, and mentorship to student musicians.

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 225-250 hours of work from June through November

    Includes summer rehearsals, afterschool practices, performances, and events

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience directing or instructing a marching band or similar ensemble

    Strong background in music education and marching techniques

    Ability to create effective, engaging drill and musical selections

    Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

    Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families

    Stipend: $9,000
