Overview
We are seeking a Test Equipment Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of test fixtures and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with engineering teams to ensure all test systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards.
This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with strong electrical/electronic skills and experience working with test equipment in a production setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of test fixtures and equipment
- Ensure all test equipment is fully operational, efficient, and aligned with quality standards
- Collaborate with Test Engineers to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Support workflow scheduling and complete required administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
- Assist in improving equipment reliability and uptime
- Use electronic test and measurement tools (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes) to analyze performance
- Apply proper soldering techniques and basic hand tool usage as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with workplace standards
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical training or degree preferred)
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience with test equipment or electronics
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain electrical and electronic systems
- Experience using test equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Basic soldering skills and familiarity with electronic components
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and climbing ladders
- Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with high-voltage systems (up to 480V)
- Background in manufacturing or test engineering environments
- Technical trade school certification or military technical training
