Manufacturing Technician

Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, Mensor gauges, oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, soldering gun, ESD tooling, power supplies, lab instruments etc. Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Location: Whittier CA 90601
Duration: 03+ Months
Pay rate: $30.00- $35.00/hr on W2 without benefits
Shift: 05:00 – 13:30 with overtime and weekend hours as needed
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Setup new production test areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.
• Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
• Manufacture, assemble, and test electromechanical assemblies according to engineering models, drawings, specifications and written procedures
• Interface with production leads, supervisors, manager and QA inspection to ensure timely customer delivery
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
• Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, Mensor gauges, oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, soldering gun, ESD tooling, power supplies, lab instruments etc.

• Solder PCB electrical assemblies
• Diagnose non-functional electronics assemblies independently
• Calibrate and test electromechanical assemblies per engineering procedure independently
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
• Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 6S and Lean initiatives
• Learn quickly from mistakes, absorb knowledge from mentors, take ownership, cross-train others and deliver results
• Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success

 
 
Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 3+ years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
• Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
• Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
• Basic mathematics skills
• Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical or electrical components
• Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areas
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs. if needed
• Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary

 
Desired:

• Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
• Degreed electronics technician, CETma, IND, Computer Electronics Certification or other equivalent
• Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
• J-STD-001G IPC certification
