In addition, Applied Energy Systems is ISO certified providing precision welding services to the medical device industry and is a sales representative to a leading manufacturer of welding equipment.Position Overview:The Laser Welder supports our Apex Precision Division by assembling and joining small to microscopic instruments, devices, and components using a laser welding machine. The operator is required to set up the laser to start a production cycle, as well as control and adjust the machine settings as needed throughout the automated process. Using written procedures, the operator will feed raw materials or parts into the machine to perform automatic welding processes. In addition to operating the machine, the candidate must also prepare the laser for daily use by adjusting programs, checking for common safety or maintenance issues, and monitoring daily output and quality. Responsibilities Include:Operate automatic laser welding equipmentFollow ISO 13485 procedures, as well as company safety and process requirementsFollow project documentation to yield product that conforms to workmanship and established production standardsPosition and clamp together components of fabricated product for welding preparationClean and perform after process weld finishing servicesPerform analytical testing including visual inspection, tensile testing and microscopic inspectionSafely operate common manufacturing tools and equipmentEffectively interface with team members for component and equipment resourcesEssential Skills:Ability to read project drawings and blueprints, specifications, work orders, and proceduresQuality/detail oriented with the ability to achieve repeatable resultsExcellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle very small instruments and componentsStrong appreciation for time management, timeliness, priorities, and deadlinesAwareness for precision, repeatability, and quality.Requirements:Must have good vision and dexterityMust be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit throughout the day for extended periods of timeHigh School degree preferred1-2 years' experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with the operation of common manufacturing tools and equipmentPrevious laser welding and/or metallurgy experience is a plusApplied Energy Systems is an equal opportunity/ affirmative action employer.Applied Energy Systems Inc is an EEO employer - M/F/Vets/Disabled
