DPP is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry.

Work schedule: 9x80 A; must be willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates
Duration: 6 months
Term: W2 contract

Position summary:
- The Manufacturing Technician II will support the Panel Assembly department.
- Perform aerospace assemble operations including honeycomb core preparation, film adhesive compaction, foaming/expanding adhesive application, adhesive mixing and bonding, honeycomb core cells adhesive filling, vacuum bagging and compaction.
- Use engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications to fabricate flight hardware while ensuring dimensional accuracy and workmanship requirements.
- Support inspection activities, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement while working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Program teams.
Responsibilities: - Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
- Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
- Determine and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
- Work with engineers in conducting experiments.
Required qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years' previous honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude to include the ability to read and interpret drawings
- Experience with hand tools and good math/geometry skills.
- Must be able to read and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
- Operate equipment such as hand tools and power machinery for processing metals, composites and wood.
- Able to work while on cure cart platens as well as above on diving boards for brief periods of time.
- Must work closely with lead technicians and supervisors to meet build requirements and schedules.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Demonstrates high level of concern for safety of self and others.
- Willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates
- US Citizenship Required
Preferred qualifications:- Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
- Previous fabrication (honeycomb panel) experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience preparing/mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for mechanical and thermal component installation in honeycomb panels.
- Experience working with thin metal face sheet material.
- Experience in the handling of hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.
