Job Details:
Job Title: Manufacturing Tech Specialist, Proc/Prod - Expert
Location:  Colorado Springs, CO 
Duration: 24+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Start time is 7am. Typically, this dept takes a 1 hr. Lunch about 1/2 way through the shift
Pay rate range: $30.00 - $35.00/hr on W2

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain thin film and thick film manufacturing equipment in support of production, engineering, and development activities.
  • Perform thin film deposition processes including sputtering, PVD, and related vacuum-based coating technologies.
  • Perform photolithography, etching, and related wafer fabrication processes.
  • Execute thick film processes including screen printing, drying, firing, curing, and inspection of hybrid microelectronic circuits and assemblies.
  • Set up, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet product quality, yield, and throughput requirements.
  • Monitor critical process parameters and identify deviations affecting film thickness, adhesion, conductivity, resistance, line resolution, and overall product performance.
  • Conduct metrology and inspection activities including profilometry, sheet resistance measurements, optical microscopy, dimensional measurements, and visual inspections.
  • Assist engineers in process characterization, capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and document manufacturing data to support yield improvement, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process transfers, prototype builds, and product qualification efforts.
  • Interpret process specifications, drawings, travelers, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime, process capability, product yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanroom and contamination-control standards throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Communicate equipment, process, and product concerns through established escalation channels.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, chemical safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records, maintenance logs, and process documentation within manufacturing systems.
 
Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in microelectronics, electronic manufacturing, semiconductor processing, hybrid circuit fabrication, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with thin film deposition equipment including sputtering, vacuum systems, or related technologies.
  • Experience with photolithography and etching equipment including coaters, steppers, wet benches, or related technologies.
  • Experience with thick film manufacturing processes including screen printing, conductor printing, resistor printing, dielectric applications, and firing operations.
  • Understanding hybrid microelectronics manufacturing processes, wafer fabrication processes, and ceramic substrate technologies.
  • Experience operating furnaces, firing ovens, curing systems, laser trim equipment, or automated process tools.
  • Knowledge of vacuum technology, pressure control systems, gas delivery systems, and contamination-control practices.
  • Familiarity with thick film materials including conductive, resistive, dielectric, and protective coatings.
  • Experience using metrology equipment such as profilometers, optical microscopes, sheet resistance systems, thickness measurement tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process-related equipment issues.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data-driven manufacturing practices.
  • Understanding of ESD controls and maintaining ESD-safe work environments.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, process documentation, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Meet ITAR requirements
 
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required;Associate degree, technical certification, or military technical training preferred.
