Description

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a high degree of performance in executing departmental work instructions, production standards, requirements, and technical support. 
  • Working knowledge of production ticket processes, production requirements, and workflow within the assigned cell or department. 
  • Strong working knowledge of machinery and equipment within the assigned area, including cross-training on multiple machines. 
  • Strong understanding of production and quality-related reports for the assigned cell or department. 
  • Coordinates activities supporting Decore quality standards, including monitoring TQM, MMR programs, graphs, and daily improvement initiatives. 
  • Works with the Supervisor and CI Manager on data collection and tracking of MMRs for the MMR Incentive Program. 
  • Facilitates departmental meetings, including daily huddles, safety tailgates, and MMR discussions. 
  • Coaches team members on departmental work activities, performance expectations, productivity standards, and safety procedures. 
  • Maintains a strong understanding of safety standards and PPE requirements for the assigned area. 
  • Conducts machine operation and equipment training for team members. 
  • Provides guidance and leadership to team members in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager. 
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and training of Standard Work documentation with the Supervisor and Manager. 
  • Conducts daily machine safety inspections and audits safety standard work practices. 
  • Participates in weekly GEMBA activities, including presentations and SQDC board reviews. 
  • Understands visual management measurements and departmental performance metrics. 
  • Maintains and updates SQDCM boards and Hour-by-Hour boards with relevant departmental information and metrics. 
  • Maintains and enforces 5S standards in accordance with the IRW 5S Program, including conducting 5S audits. 
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities, including Standard Work audits, point kaizens, and waste elimination initiatives. 
  • Runs and analyzes reports from company systems as needed. 
  • Exemplifies company core values and provides coaching and support to team members as needed. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Exercises considerable judgment and initiative in operating and managing the assigned cell or department. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. 
  • Proficient in basic problem-solving techniques, including 5 Whys analysis. 
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to run and analyze reports. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a Lead Role or similar manufacturing leadership position, including relevant experience outside of Decore. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. periodically. 
  • Basic math skills required.
