    What a day looks like

Shift starts with a quick safety huddle. You review the production board, check Plex and Job Web for priorities, and head to the pressroom. A press operator signals a coil change—together you swap coils, confirm proper threading, verify labels, and keep parts flowing. Later, you stage totes, build and band skids, and move finished goods so nothing backs up. When demand shifts, you jump to assembly to build subassemblies per work instructions, verify dimensions with gauges and fixtures, and package parts to spec. You close the loop by updating SmartPAC settings under direction, recording production data accurately, and tidying your area to 5S standards so the next task starts clean and safe.

    Your impact

    • Production enablement: Support press operators with coil swaps, packaging/labeling, stacking totes, skid banding, and safe part handling. Assist with equipment setups, start-up/shutdown steps, and operate presses/production machinery as trained.
    • Assembly excellence: Follow work instructions and customer specs to assemble components and subassemblies; verify parts meet quality expectations; package, label, and box to order while keeping material flowing.
    • Material and facility flow: Help move materials; assemble boxes; shrink wrap; load coils with steel handlers; verify receipts; empty scrap hoppers; handle trash/recycling; restock wash gloves and facility supplies.
    • Quality reinforcement: Perform sorting, containment, and rework; use measuring tools, gauges, and fixtures; surface setup issues, stock alignment problems, and equipment abnormalities promptly; contribute to corrective actions.
    • Order and safety: Execute daily/weekly 5S; maintain clean, organized, and safe work zones across the plant.
    • Systems and documentation: Follow work instructions, setup sheets, quality standards, and SOPs; accurately record activity in Plex, Job Web, SmartPAC, and related manufacturing software.
    • Team support: Operate effectively with limited supervision; collaborate across departments; help train peers on tasks and processes; flex to other duties as customer and business needs change.
