Manufacturing Support Technician – Finishing & Packaging

Location: Pewaukee, WI 53072 | Job ID: 2445

Schedule: Mondays–Thursdays, 5:00am–3:00pm | Pay: $18–$19/hour

A Day in the Life

At 5:00am, you’re geared up and ready. You review the day’s work orders, prep packaging materials, and head to the floor. Early tasks include deburring and cleaning freshly made parts, then reworking anything that needs to hit exact specs. You move between stations to assist operators, tend machines, and keep materials flowing. Mid‑morning, you complete cycle counts, tidy work cells, and safely operate forklifts or overhead cranes as needed. Before the shift wraps, you package finished parts, update counts, and ensure tools and areas are left clean, organized, and safe for the next day.

What You’ll Do

  • Deburr, clean, and finish manufactured components
  • Rework parts to meet quality and customer requirements
  • Tend machines and assist production operators
  • Prepare and stage packaging for upcoming work orders
  • Package finished parts per specifications
  • Support warehouse functions and general material handling
  • Keep the shop and warehouse clean; uphold 5S standards
  • Maintain tools/equipment and report issues promptly
  • Execute inventory tasks: cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Assist with building and department maintenance as directed
  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes; use micrometers and calipers
  • Recognize and report safety concerns; follow all safety procedures
  • Pitch in with other duties as production needs change

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • Proven manufacturing experience (required)
  • Track record of steady, reliable work history
  • Sharp visual/manual inspection skills to verify quality
  • Ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions, especially around safety
  • High attention to detail with a team‑first attitude
  • Comfort working with a wide variety of manufacturing machines

Physical Demands & Environment

  • Lift up to 50 lbs independently; heavier items with assistance
  • Regular material manipulation including reaching above shoulder level
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as tasks require
  • Standing and moving throughout a manufacturing floor for the full shift

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift and overhead crane operation
  • Comfort with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • Inventory or warehouse support experience
