    Description

    Manufacturing Supervisor (2nd shift)

    Principal Activities

    • Help oversee both CNC and manual machining centers, along with the welding area, ensuring employees are meeting production goals and safety requirements.
    • Support the development and implementation of strategies to keep the machine shop on track for customer commitments. Help create actionable plans to meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Assist in managing all resources of the machine shop, including personnel, tools, and equipment, to achieve all committed metrics for the department.
    • Participate in conducting regular performance feedback to employees. Maximize the capabilities of production personnel and help implement procedures to improve team efficiency.
    • Collaborate in developing and defining strategies to ensure mid- and long-term production goals are met, while helping to maintain the efficiency and quality of production.
    • Help drive daily change by establishing communication channels for feedback and using company-wide systems to ensure that all employees feel like stakeholders and have a voice in the workplace.
    • Lead and contribute to solutions aimed at improving staff capabilities and performance management. Ensure proper training and mentorship are provided to enhance team skills and productivity.
    • Assist in managing and maintaining all health and safety standards within the manufacturing team, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Help review and approve time-keeping activities such as labor charging and ADP time sheets, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
    • Contribute to conducting annual performance reviews for employees, assessing their growth and identifying opportunities for further development.
    • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support team needs.

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    Knowledge Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of G and M Codes
    • Basic GD&T
    • Standard Operating Procedure development
    • Able to read complex drawings and blueprints, calculate or determine dimensions not given. i.e. true position, datum points, etc.
    • Strong EHS Awareness
    • Well developed Microsoft Office suite skills
    • High energy level, assertive personality and comfortable performing multiple projects in conjunction with normal activities
    • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve required results
    • Highly organized with good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to efficiently organize and complete daily activities
    • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with others, tactful, mature flexible
    • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive – but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities
    • Results oriented with focus on project completions
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating CNC and manual machining centers and welding equipment. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
    • Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of workplace safety standards, including OSHA regulations, and a demonstrated ability to enforce these standards
    • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear and effective interaction with team members and management.
    • Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot issues, resolve conflicts, and find solutions to improve team performance, workflow, and safety.

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or related technical degree required.
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training in machine shop practices, welding, or related fields is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in machine shop and welding operations, with at least 1 year in leadership or supervisory capacity.
