Protech Staffing is currently seeking a motivated Manufacturing Supervisor to join an established production team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional looking to lead operations, drive continuous improvement, and support high-volume production in a fast-paced environment.
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved. This role focuses on team leadership, Lean manufacturing practices, process optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Promote and maintain a zero-incident safety culture through audits, observations, and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Execute daily production plans to meet schedule attainment and fill rate goals.
Monitor key performance indicators including labor efficiency, downtime, and throughput.
Coordinate staffing and resources to maintain balanced and efficient production flow.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen (Quality Circle) events.
Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Flow, and Pull systems.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, control plans, and work instructions.
Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as DMAIC, 5 Why, and Fishbone diagrams.
Drive reduction of defects, rework, and scrap through proactive quality control.
Supervise, coach, and develop team leads and production operators.
Conduct Gemba walks and lead daily tier meetings to monitor performance and drive accountability.
Track and report KPIs including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM).
Maintain visual management boards and support cross-functional initiatives with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervision.
Required Skills & Qualifications
35+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience leading Kaizen events or similar process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of quality systems, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, production data, and performance metrics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-volume manufacturing or production environments.
Familiarity with advanced Lean tools and operational excellence frameworks.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance.
Background in coaching and developing production teams for performance improvement
