About the Role
Join a high-velocity manufacturing operation where your hands-on expertise keeps production moving. As a Manufacturing Reliability Maintenance Technician, you’ll own the uptime of complex equipment and the integrity of facility systems. You’ll blend mechanical know‑how with electrical troubleshooting to prevent failures, respond fast when they happen, and leave every machine running better than before.
A Day in the Life
You start your shift reviewing the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) schedule and maintenance logs. First up: completing preventative tasks on critical assets to avoid surprise breakdowns. Mid-morning, a line goes down—your diagnostic skills kick in as you trace a pneumatic issue, verify electrical integrity, and restore operation quickly. In the afternoon, you help commission a new conveyor with the engineering team, validate VFD parameters, and update documentation. Before shift end, you perform a safety check, log work, and share reliability insights with production.
What You’ll Tackle
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues across diverse production machinery
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns to minimize production delays and stabilize operations
- Maintain accurate records, work orders, and asset histories within the CMMS
- Install, start up, and validate new equipment or machinery modifications
- Collaborate with engineering and production to boost reliability, throughput, and efficiency
- Follow safety standards rigorously, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper PPE
- Support facility upkeep—HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and general building repairs—when needed
- Engage in training and cross-functional initiatives to broaden your skill set
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading schematics
- Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, motors, and conveyor systems
- Capable of lifting 50+ lbs., standing for extended periods, and working in varying environmental conditions
- Willing to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field
- Background in plastic manufacturing or high-speed packaging
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and 5S principles
Technical Proficiencies
- PLC and HMI troubleshooting
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair across 120/208/240/480V systems
- VFD setup and diagnostics
- Mechanical testing, assembly, and component repair
- Industrial electrical systems and controls
