    Description

    Role Snapshot

Picture your shift: you clock in, review the Sample Plan, and head straight to the bench. You prep standards, verify instrument calibration, and run the first batch of analyses that will guide today’s process control and quality assurance decisions on the manufacturing floor. Your data—captured in our systems and shared with clients and internal stakeholders—keeps production on spec and operations running smoothly.

    A Day in the Life

Morning: You collect samples per defined protocols, set up calibration curves, and perform routine instrument checks. If a chromatogram looks off or a spectrometer drifts, you jump into first-line troubleshooting and escalate as needed. You validate results with basic statistics, document every step, and safeguard data integrity and traceability.

Midday: You shift gears to environmental operations—conducting environmental sampling and testing to meet regulatory and company requirements. You make routine rounds at the waste treatment ponds, oversee sump routing and stormwater handling to prevent contamination, and coordinate the loading of salty water and sludge trucks. If a line or filter is clogged, you clear it and operate valves safely to restore flow.

Afternoon: You complete preventative maintenance on analytical systems, log performance trends, and recommend improvements to lab workflows and tools. Throughout the day, you model safe behaviors and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHandS) and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) practices—serving as an informal mentor to less experienced teammates.
