Title: Manufacturing Production Supervisor I

Location: Bellevue, WA 98005

Duration: 6 months (Possible extension)

Payrate for role is $42.00 per hour

Manager is looking for 2 Production Supervisors.

Day: 5: 30am - 2pm Sunday through Thursday

Grave: 9: 30pm - 6am Monday through Friday

 

 

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is a central figure in the production environment, tasked with the management and guidance of production workers to meet set goals and uphold quality standards. Responsible for the coordination of various manufacturing and warehouse functions within a large, complex, and fast paced food production facility to drive maximum financial results and deliver a quality on-time product for customers.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·Plan, lead, direct operation activities on the shift and give appropriate feedback to employees.

·Build teams and assign accountability.

·Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety.

·Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal and State guidelines.

·Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, Etc.)

·Responsible for all processes on the shift.

·Oversee activities including ordering, processing, packaging, and shipping of all plant products and services.

·May schedule production, schedule crews, order materials, and/or order supplies.

·Plan, delegate, and monitor progress on work assignments and special projects.

·Manage to assign financial budget targets - typically labor management, waste management and efficiency.

·Utilize new technology and Lean manufacturing principles and processes available to maximize efficiency.

·Identify cost cutting measures.

·Sanitation duties

·Electronic documentation (Safety Chain)

 

Key attributes for success include leadership, communication, problem-solving, and a meticulous eye for detail. Leadership is exercised through team motivation and direction, while communication skills aid in instruction delivery and feedback provision, cultivating teamwork. Problem-solving skills are applied to overcome operational challenges and streamline processes. Attention to detail is critical in meeting product specifications and quality compliance. Organizational skills are also vital for resource management, including materials and labor. A thorough grasp of manufacturing workflows, safety norms, and procedures is expected, along with relevant experience and supervisory background. The Manufacturing Supervisor's overarching responsibility is to boost productivity, maintain operational efficiency, and ensure seamless manufacturing activities.

 

Role Qualifications:

BS/BA Degree preferred in related field. Experience may substitue for education.

Minimum Qualifications: 2 or more years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing mass production environment. 1 of more years’experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Must be available to be assigned to varying shifts.

Proven understanding of productions/operations/manufacturing requirements.

Ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce. Ability to manage and develop employees.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Proven time management skills.

Willingness to work overtime hours and holidays.

Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
