    Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer, Electrified Energy Storage

    Start with the mission

Battery manufacturing rewards discipline and punishes improvisation. Tiny process slips compound into major quality escapes; early instability drains margins. Your mission is to engineer safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly processes so scale is predictable and customers can rely on every module and pack we ship.

    Your impact

    • Engineer end-to-end assembly: Architect and document complete manufacturing flows for battery modules and packs, defining sequence and work content to meet quality, takt, and safety/ergonomics.
    • Codify the work: Build visual, precise standard work and instructions tied to drawings/BOMs, current revisions, and approved changes—and train the team.
    • Equip the line: Specify, install, commission, and sustain tools, fixtures, inspection/test equipment, and material handling aids; validate equipment readiness and settings.
    • Stabilize ramps: Support initial launch, volume ramp, and new variant introductions; act fast on process issues, bottlenecks, or downtime with corrective actions.
    • Control variation: Define in-process checks, error-proofing (poka-yoke), and capability/control plans; drive root cause analysis and CAPA with Quality.
    • Bridge design to build: Evaluate manufacturability impacts from engineering changes, update processes/instructions, and support pilot builds for smooth NPI transitions.
    • Relentlessly improve: Deliver gains in yield, cycle time, labor efficiency, and scrap/rework by applying lean methods and improving flow.
    • Protect people: Ensure EHS compliance and safe work practices; identify and mitigate ergonomic and safety risks across assembly and material handling.
    • Make it measurable: Maintain accurate process definitions, equipment settings, and change histories; report process metrics that guide operations.
