Production Operator – Cleanroom Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating manual and/or automated manufacturing equipment to produce and assemble high-quality products. This position performs manufacturing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and inspection activities within a cleanroom environment while following established procedures, safety requirements, SOPs, and GMP standards.

The Production Operator plays an important role in ensuring products meet quality specifications and are completed accurately and on time for customers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect, and troubleshoot production machinery and assembly equipment.
• Follow documented work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Monitor materials and equipment throughout the manufacturing process.
• Assemble products according to established procedures and specifications.
• Perform visual inspections to identify defects and ensure products meet quality requirements.
• Load and unload materials and products from machines, carts, and dollies.
• Package and label acceptable finished products according to specifications.
• Ensure accuracy of product packaging, labeling, and traceability.
• Complete Device History Records (DHRs), production documentation, and associated paperwork accurately.
• Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
• Use small hand tools and precision devices as required during the manufacturing and assembly process.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all safety and quality assurance standards.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and other staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment, tools, processes, quality, and overall efficiency.
• Support department initiatives, including 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years of cleanroom experience.
• Experience following work instructions, process documentation, and established procedures.
• Ability to accurately complete production paperwork and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment is beneficial.

Work Environment

This position works in both manufacturing and office environments. Employees will regularly interact with manufacturing machinery and equipment and may also use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and other business systems.

The role requires adherence to applicable cleanroom, safety, quality, SOP, and GMP requirements.

The physical requirements listed below represent those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

• Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to stoop, reach, handle materials, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to regularly use hands and fingers to handle products, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to perform manufacturing and assembly activities for extended periods.
