Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, aligning, inspecting, and testing complex electro-mechanical, opto-electrical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies in a production environment. The role follows engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and established procedures to ensure assemblies meet quality and performance specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, safe and effective use of hand tools, and the ability to identify and resolve assembly issues.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, align, and test electro-mechanical, opto-electrical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies according to specifications.
- Clean and prepare components for assembly while maintaining quality and workmanship standards.
- Use hand tools and assembly equipment, including torque drivers, soldering irons, screwdrivers, crimp tools, and wire cutters.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
- Determine the appropriate sequence of assembly operations using drawings, samples, and written or verbal instructions.
- Inspect and test completed assemblies to verify compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
- Document inspection and test results accurately according to established procedures.
- Identify assembly and quality issues and apply appropriate problem-solving techniques to support timely resolution.
- Follow safety, quality, production, and PPE requirements in the manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of directly applicable electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to assemble, align, inspect, and test electro-mechanical, opto-electrical, mechanical, or electronic assemblies.
- Ability to safely and accurately use common hand tools and assembly equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to handle and manipulate small components repeatedly for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with workplace software or manufacturing systems preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good close and color vision, eye-hand coordination, and ability to perform detailed assembly tasks for extended periods.
