Manufacturing Manager

Lead, develop, and mentor the manufacturing engineering team while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards while driving improvements across operations. Oversee tooling design, process development, manufacturing methods, and engineering support activities. Lead capital equipment planning, equipment acquisitions, installation projects, and production readiness activities. Develop and manage long-range capital improvement plans, project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements. Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, facility layouts, and workforce utilization to improve productivity and efficiency. Investigate production, quality, equipment, and operational issues and implement corrective actions. Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, and other continuous improvement programs. Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to optimize manufacturing performance. Support risk management initiatives, process improvements, and operational excellence programs. Monitor key performance metrics and implement strategies to improve throughput, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

A successful Manufacturing Manager should have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a precision manufacturing environment. Previous engineering leadership or management experience. Strong background in capital project management, tooling design, and manufacturing process improvement. Demonstrated success leading Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with ISO systems, quality standards, and operational excellence programs. Knowledge of machining, assembly, metal manufacturing, and industrial production processes. Strong project management, budgeting, and resource planning experience. Experience with facility layout optimization, workflow analysis, and workforce utilization planning. Proficiency with CAD software, GD&T, Microsoft Office, and manufacturing systems. Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and employee development skills. Experience within power transmission, industrial manufacturing, or related industries preferred.
