Shift: Primarily 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM 6:30 AM
Potential Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
Schedule: Flexible schedule required, including weekend availability
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting high-speed production equipment.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely around industrial machinery. Experience in food manufacturing or other high-speed manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures and perform necessary repairs.
- Start, stop, operate, and adjust production machinery as required.
- Identify equipment issues and take appropriate action to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and equipment prints.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to established procedures.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform basic welding, machining, and fabrication tasks when required.
- Apply basic PLC knowledge when troubleshooting automated equipment.
- Accurately complete maintenance work orders, equipment downtime records, process forms, and related documentation.
- Follow established maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Assist with equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical or electrical problems.
- Work closely with production personnel to maintain reliable and efficient equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Previous maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical prints.
- Basic working knowledge of PLCs.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Experience starting, stopping, and adjusting production machinery.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and noisy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with food manufacturing equipment.
- Previous maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing facility.
- Basic welding, machining, and fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of ammonia systems and boilers.
- Previous forklift or powered industrial equipment experience.
- Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment.
