Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Responsibilities for Chip Processing
- Walk throughout the machine shop servicing approximately 28 operating machines
- Collect metal chips from machines and transport materials using carts that may weigh over 100 pounds
- Shovel chips into collection baskets
- Operate an overhead crane to load baskets into chip-spinning equipment
- Secure lids and safety latches prior to operation
- Manually rotate baskets and start machine cycles
- Monitor two chip-spinning machines with approximately 8-minute cycle times
- Transfer processed baskets to shaker/strainer equipment using a crane
- Use hand tools, including a garden hoe, to move processed material into hoppers
- Notify maintenance personnel when hoppers are full for weighing and disposal
