Overview:
Assisting our material handling crew and general labor duties as assigned. This position will report to our Manufacturing building that is located in Derwent, Ohio.
*Bi-Con Services employees working in safety-sensitive positions are drug and alcohol tested under the federal DOT regulations. Testing is conducted for pre-employment, on a random basis (according to the requirements of DOT), reasonable suspicion and post-accident (according to the requirements of DOT.) Under DOT regulations, marijuana, whether with a medical prescription or not, is considered an illegal substance.*
Responsibilities:
- Promote the company’s safety culture.
- Participate in daily huddle and safety meetings.
- Properly use, maintain and store all tools and materials used in the course of work.
- Assist welding crew including: material retrieval, handling pipe/structural, handling and placing stands and cribbing.
- Assist with flange makeups including: material retrieval, flange face preparation and torqueing. Break down flanges and temporary screwed pipe assemblies after hydro testing is completed.
- Assist with screw pipe installation including: retrieving material, install supports, measure, cut, thread and install pipe.
- Assist handling crew with removing completed pipe/structural assemblies from the building. Clean up stands and cribbing from removed spools.
- Assist with hydro testing set up to include: filling with water, bleeding air from test system, install various screwed assemblies to assist in testing, install extra cribbing as needed, etc.
- Assist after hydro testing with de-watering and general clean up.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Operate band saw to cut pipe and structural material to correct lengths.
- Operate overhead crane as needed to perform varies tasks.
- Fire watch as directed.
- Assist with Daily clean-up of work area.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Work will involve a manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of manufacturing and/or industrial activities.
- Willingness and desire to learn.
- Must be able to bend, stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
