Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician

At Genesis Products, we keep production moving. As our Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician, you’ll be the first call when a line slows, the steady hand during planned maintenance, and the sharp eye that spots wear before it becomes downtime. You will report directly to the Plant Manager and partner closely with production teams to sustain uptime across our operation.

A day in the life

Your morning might start with a walk-through of key cells, listening for changes in machine tone and checking readouts. A maintenance ticket pings—an operator noticed a drift in cut accuracy. You observe the equipment in operation, take precise measurements with calipers and micrometers, and trace the issue through mechanical and electrical systems. After a finely tuned alignment using hand tools and standard gauges, you document the work and move on to a scheduled PM—lubrication, inspection, and part replacement—so the next shift never skips a beat.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot equipment by observing operation and applying testing/measuring instruments to isolate faults.
• Complete routine maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on plant machinery and facility systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems as assigned.
• Inspect and measure components for wear; verify dimensional accuracy using precision tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Adjust and align equipment with hand tools and standard measurement devices to restore optimal performance.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules and clearly document all maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to support reliable, efficient machine operation.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work environment.

What you bring

• 5–7+ years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform hands-on mechanical troubleshooting.
• Background across mechanical, pneumatic, control, and electrical systems.
• Experience with wood-processing machinery is a plus (e.g., CNC routers, edge banders, HPL and paper lamination).
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Clear communication and collaborative teamwork style.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work orders, and resolve assigned equipment issues.
• Physically able to work in a production environment and meet attendance expectations.
• Reliable transportation.
