The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist manages the engineering and production document control system, including the release of new engineering documents, the definition of new part numbers, and the creation of the initial bills of material.  Maintains the document follow-up system for customers and vendors.  Reviews all ECNs at the initiation stage for accuracy.  Responsible for planning quality controls including stop-works, part number compliance review, and assignment of part numbers to responsible departments.  Leads the planning group with ECN documentation, compliance, and process.  Responsible for new order part numbers and backlog of orders assigned to planning, crossing into the MRP system.

The key responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Controls the release of new engineering documents and has complete final responsibility for compliance and accuracy
  • Defines new items masters; delegates and assigns to the appropriate engineer
  • Establishes new bills of material
  • Identifies and manages customer and distributor follow up requirements from engineering release information
  • Manages customer billing for tooling and services
  • Maintains information and coordinates special customer owned tooling audits
  • Liaise with other departments (design engineering, process engineering, planning, quality and marketing)
  • Ensures compliance with established Amphenol Aerospace/Amphenol Military High Speed/Amphenol Commercial Air engineering release processes, buyer/planner code changes, and/or alternate modes of production; exercises authority & discretion to ensure clear to build for manufacturing
  • Manages manufacturing method and location changes through Integrify QD510 system with process engineering

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of an Manufacturing Engineering Specialist at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • High school and 5 plus years’ experience in manufacturing engineering and Data3 (or other system) engineering processes
  • Experience with Data3 system requirements for engineering and document control (or other system)
  • Experience or ability to learn the review of documents and drawings
  • Experience with or ability to learn engineering specifications
  • Experience with excel and large volumes of data organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a large volume and mix of daily tasks
  • Large volume of computer and keyboard work
