Brief Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Specialist with a strong electrical engineering background to support the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for complex industrial and data-center-related equipment. This role focuses on ensuring products can be built safely, efficiently, and consistently by aligning electrical design intent, manufacturing processes, factory systems, and production tools. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with industrial electronics and power infrastructure (such as switchgear, bus bar systems, UPS, and related equipment), along with a working knowledge of industrial automation and smart factory technologies. This role partners closely with engineering, operations, quality, and IT to enable scalable, repeatable manufacturing across multiple facilities.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time Investment Needed on Each:

Manufacturing Process Design & Enablement Design, define, and improve manufacturing processes for electrically complex equipment, ensuring build methods are practical, repeatable, and aligned with safety and quality requirements.

Electrical & Industrial Systems Expertise Serve as a manufacturing subject-matter expert for electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and industrial electronics, ensuring manufacturability and proper integration into factory processes.

Production Support & Issue Resolution Support production teams by troubleshooting build issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

Factory Technology & Automation Support the introduction and improvement of factory technologies such as PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, automated material handling, ASRS, and other production automation tools.

Process Improvement & Efficiency Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and simplify production using structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods.

Equipment & Tooling Readiness Define requirements for production equipment, test systems, and tooling; support selection, commissioning, and validation to ensure readiness for production.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with design engineering, quality, supply chain, IT, and operations to ensure manufacturing requirements are understood early and executed effectively.

Documentation & Standards Develop and maintain clear manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards to support consistent execution across facilities.

Safety & Compliance Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, electrical, and regulatory standards, and promote a strong safety culture on the factory floor.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role in the power electronics industry • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems, and manufacturing simulation tools. Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Familiarity with UPS system components and assembly processes • Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with data center infrastructure or power-related equipment (e.g., switchgear, bus bar, UPS, power control systems) Experience with industrial automation, including PLCs, robotics, automated test systems, or ASRS Exposure to MES, ERP, or digital manufacturing systems Experience supporting new product introductions, factory expansions, or technology deployments

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing floor for extended periods • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Use of hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms

Environmental Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing floor for extended periods • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Use of hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms

Time Travel Needed: (0% - 10%)
